Imagine soaring above the lush landscapes of Maui, feeling the thrill of the wind against your face as you and your family embark on an unforgettable hang gliding adventure. For families like yours, with members ranging from 12 to 52 years old, the question often arises: Can all of us experience the thrill of flying in one day? At Hang Gliding Maui, the answer is a resounding yes!
However, Armin must complete the flights back-to-back since he is operating solo.
When you arrive at our hangar at Hana Airport, Armin will be there to welcome you and go over options to minimize your wait time. Our hangar is equipped with Wi-Fi, comfortable couches, and tables, making it a great place to relax. You're also welcome to bring lunch and enjoy it in the hangar. To help pass the time, we offer lawn chairs, a pool table, ping-pong, and foosball.
If you're visiting as a group, we can even split into two. While one group is flying with me, the other can explore Waianapanapa State Park,(don't forget to make a reservation at www.waianapanapa.com). or the stunning Hana caves, or spend an hour at the beautiful Red Sand Beach.
Each member of your family will receive personalized attention, with safety briefings tailored to their age and experience level. Armin is skilled in communicating with both adults and younger participants, ensuring that everyone feels confident and secure before taking flight.
What to Expect on the Day of Your Flight
On the day of your hang gliding adventure, you'll be greeted by Armin at the Hangar. He will will guide you through the check-in process and provide an overview of the day's schedule. Before taking to the skies, each family member will be fitted with a Flight suit and helmet, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit. Armin will demonstrate the basics of hang gliding, including takeoff, flight maneuvers, and landing techniques. This hands-on instruction helps build confidence and excitement, especially for first-time flyers.
